Turn back your clocks and turn up your creativity.

The last few months have been tough for us all (and I don’t even want to think about tomorrow…) but so far, I am surviving. It may be just barely, and it may not be the most fun, but it is still surviving.

Although it isn’t exactly the first of the month, it is the first Monday and therefor the first day of this month that I am thinking about work and how to keep it going for the next few months. One of the best ways for me to start a month off right is by learning something new that I can spend the rest of the month trying to improve. For example, last month was my time to focus on learning to use photoshop better than I already can. This month, I have decided to take a step back and review some of the basic web design tricks. Often we are so focused on moving forward that we forget to go back to basics, but with how crazy everything is around me right now, it feels good to go through and simplify a few things – plus, there are always new tricks I can pick up…because unfortunately, as much as I wish I did – I don’t know everything ;) .

What new tricks can you pick up? Is there a great tutorial site you turn to for help?

The malaise of the fall. May I suggest you try to catch one of Tufte’s upcoming seminars in California to get your creativity going again? He always inspires me.

A very affirming post, just this morning I said SELF, this month, you must be a finisher. I started to learn how to tag my pictures effiecently, but then someone said look over there…and off I went…to start but never to master….I have unfinished profiles in many places, and half tagged pictures begging for attention. Its not about productivity its just about crossing the finish line and that is the skill I will reacquaint myself with this month. I’m not looking forward to tomorrow either. I have a very unsettled feeling….like I know something others should…but I can not quite figure out what it is…

Thanks for the Mashable link. Looks like great content!

I think we should all “fall back” – turn back our clocks and take back our time. We can all get very overloaded by stuff that just doesn’t matter. Let it go. Release it. I’m with KatyBeth entirely. A sure sign that I’m overwhelmed is when I start chasing my tail, constantly moving, but not moving forward. Everything is half-finished, half-started, half-a**ed. I have to remind myself how satifying it is to complete one thing, and do it well.
