You deserve special attention

Today, problogger challenges us to pay special attention to one (or more) of our readers. The point of paying special attention to an individual reader is 2-fold. First, it benefits the person that you recommend by showing your other readers more about them and it shows that you value them. Second, it shows your readers someone new and interesting, and that you value your readers.

The problem? I want to pay attention to ALL my readers! So, I chose one of the techniques he recommends for paying attention to a reader, that allows me to pay attention to a lot of readers.

  1. Run a Reader Poll and Highlight Answers in a followup post

The Question: What makes someone a creative expert?

Your responses to the poll will be put into a post later this week, with your answers (and links) and my thoughts on the questions as well. The question is one that I have wondered throughout my experience on twitter (as many claim to be one) and through my writing (as I believe I am fairly creative). So, what are your thoughts?

    Creative experts………
Well, honestly, I struggle with that and to be blunt, it’s because so many people freely throw it around (specifically on twitter) and creativity is soooooo subjective.
Perhaps I’m biased, but I find your website a goldmine of creative advice and creative inspiration. Some other sites that are labeled as creative experts, not so much. The ones I bristle against are the ones that lean more on the technical side of websites, Internet interaction and lack a personal (read creative personality) to their presence. Honestly, there are thousands of websites that claim creative possibilities, yet lack design, grace, poise and the kick in creative, which is inspiration or vision.
I have no idea if I’m conveying my thoughts well here, and I’ve probably meandered off the orginal question. But thats my two cents for the day~

I have to agree. That’s a lot like saying that I’m an “Excellent Artist”. There isn’t a standard definition of the term “Creative”, so how do you get to be an expert in the matter?

Furthermore the term is far too broad. Creative in web design is not the same as creative in jazz band. It’s all based on opinion and will vary not only between fields, but between peers.
