I find that the Twitter universe is filled with people who have a great many talents to offer and a great many needs to fulfill. Once you navigate the spamming auto-followers, there are so many incredible people to communicate with, exchange ideas, get feedback, or just share an experience. The realtime process of doing so has been life changing. I tweet both to help myself and to help others. I do it for the same reason a lot of other people do it: to connect. I want to know what like-minded individuals are doing, and how they’re doing it. I’m using it to become smarter.

On that note, the Tweeters who have 50,000 followers are in it for all of the wrong reasons. I think you’re defeating the purpose, at that point.
