Why do I attend tweet-ups?

Because as Denise Shiffman poignantly noted out after the one yesterday:

real life is better than twitter

Denise, I couldn’t agree more.

I love to get to actually talk to people, be able to converse without a limit on characters. Ask questions without the twittersphere listening. Find out details and discover the real person behind the avatar. I am a social person, which is why social media and I click so well. But, because I am social, I want to be able to talk to people face to face (or at least over the phone!). Tweet-ups are a great way to bring twitter to real life and get to make those connections.

Twitter is a tool to start the conversation…real life is where it gets discussed, dissected and developed.

If you are interested in attending the next tweetup in Orange County, join the facebook group for updates or follow @tworco on twitter. Not in the OC? Send out a tweet asking for the link to your local tweetup group!

Do you attend tweet-ups? Why or why not?

I completely agree with you! I am all about moving things to the next level of ‘relationship.’ That’s why I love BlogCrush.
I really want to go to a Tweet up too.
